SUMMER & OFF SEASON OPPORTUNITIES

We love that our Napa Force families stay active all year long! We share these opportunities as they come our way, but please note that they are not affiliated with or endorsed by Napa Force Lacrosse Club. We encourage families to do their own research before signing up.

Wine Valley Sixes League

What’s the best part of a lacrosse program? If you said "playing in the games," then this league is for you.

From May 30th to June 27th, we are hosting five weeks of the PLL/WLL Junior Champions league. This league features gameplay only with no practices, allowing players to transition directly from their spring season and keep their skills sharp.

During the first weekend, players will participate in skill testing and a scrimmage, after which coaches will draft players onto teams. Girls will play on Saturdays and boys will play on Sundays. The following three weekends will determine tournament seeding, with each team playing at least two games per weekend. On the final weekend, the top 4–6 teams in each age group will compete in a tournament to decide the champions.

This is a great opportunity to gain extra game experience without interfering with local travel teams. Each player will receive a licensed PLL/WLL pinnie. The format is Olympic Sixes with a twist: each team has the option to field a long pole. Teams will consist of approximately 7–9 players to ensure ample playing time, and games will include extended breaks for recovery.

Fog City Training Program

We’re excited to kick off our summer training later this month and hope you’ll join us for this first phase of development.

One of the things that sets our program apart is the caliber of coaching we provide. We are proud to offer access to some of the top coaches in Northern California, including several current college players who bring elite-level experience, fresh perspective, and firsthand knowledge of what it takes to succeed at the next level.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be highlighting members of our summer coaching staff so you can get a better sense of the outstanding mentors who will be working with your boys.

Coach Spotlight: Jake Holmes (son of 14U boys coach, Matt Holmes)

Lax. Surf. Serve.

If you haven't heard of the trip, since 2012 we have led life-changing and adventurous trips for hundreds of high school students to Playa Samara, Costa Rica to serve local communities, grow the game of lacrosse, facilitate education programs, and work on construction projects to benefit under-served communities. These trips have always included exciting travel, high adventure, great friendships, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and adults. Through our long-term partnership with the Costa Rica Lacrosse Federation, our teams have invested time, energy, relationships, and resources in growing the game and serving the local community in a socially-conscious and culturally-immersive experience. We also take time to enjoy all that Costa Rica has to offer including surfing, zip-lining, beach bonfires, coastal activities, and more. This is an independent unaffiliated effort not associated with any specific school or program to support the growth of the game and make an impact in the local community. Fundraising for the service portion of the trip is available.

They offer Girls and Boys Travel teams at the 12U and 14U levels, plus a Girls HS team, along with summer skills camps and college recruiting support.  They also run their own tournaments -- the Pride Invitational, Gold Rush, and Grapevine Classic. Their overall emphasis is on character development alongside competitive play, with the tagline "Building Players On and Off the Field." Geographically they're a natural fit as a referral for Napa Force families ready to step up to travel ball.

STEPS California

STEPS California is an elite girls-only club lacrosse program operating in California and New Jersey, with a 25+ year track record of placing players at top colleges -- Stanford, Princeton, Duke, Cornell, and Northwestern among them, with over 500 alumni playing collegiately since 2003. They're the first girls club in the country to be Nike-sponsored, consistently ranked in the top 20 nationally, and claim the #1 spot in California. Their coaching staff is all-female, and their tournament access is a major differentiator -- they're the only NorCal club with entry to invite-only events like the Nike G8 Invitational, Live Love Lax, and Lax for the Cure, which they actually own and operate. STEPS is squarely positioned at the high-end college-recruiting pipeline, so it's a very different tier and audience than recreational or early travel play.

Tenacity Project

Tenacity Project is a premier girls-only lacrosse organization serving grades 3 through 12, with elite travel teams running from the 2027 through 2033/34 graduation years. Their program ladder includes a Sixes Academy (a smaller-sided format open to grades 3-12), elite travel teams for grades 5-12, college showcase events for grades 8-12, youth summer camps for Pre-K through 8th grade, and a Utah-based regional arm called Tenacity Select. They also have a nonprofit/donation component, suggesting a mission-driven angle beyond just competitive play. They appear to be a newer or recently rebranded organization based on their site's freshness, and are girls-focused across the full youth-to-high-school spectrum.

BayTown Baddies

BayTown Baddies is a girls-only club lacrosse program operating across the North Bay and East Bay, with teams spanning the 2032 through 2035 graduation years including elite-track squads at each level. They're based out of Redwood High School (North Bay) and Diablo Vista Middle School (East Bay). The coaching staff is a notable strength -- the program is directed by Maggie Schneidereith, a former Johns Hopkins attacker and Tewaaraton Watch List nominee who also served as head coach at UC Santa Barbara, and the broader staff is heavily stocked with current and former UC Davis players. The vibe is high-energy and community-oriented, positioning themselves as a newer, personality-forward alternative in the NorCal girls travel space.
